Shrinky Dinks Butterfly Necklace

Back in the Aleene's days I was known as the Shrink-It Queen.  I saw a post on Mark Montano's page recently where he made a beautiful butterfly necklace using Shrinky Dinks and clip art.  I made his version now I need to make one using photos from my recent trip to Butterfly Wonderland.

Kids Decoupage Gift Ideas

I had to blow off the dust on this project - 1997!  Here's a great idea for a holiday gift for Grandma and Grandpa.  Pick a theme and find tissue paper, wrapping paper, cards or posters, have the kids cut them out and glue them on ceramic tiles.  Use raffia or ribbon to hang the tiles and they're sure to impress.

Craft SuperShow, Oh my!!!!

It's the final day of the Craft and Hobby Association Craft SuperShow and I hadn't anticipated 'walking the floor' as we call it in the business, I was just going by to pick up my badge for the start of the trade show tomorrow. Well, I'm super glad I went today. It goes back to my saying of 'you NEVER know!'

I did get my badge, but decided to take a peek back on the showroom floor just in time for a presentation by Deborah Norville - yes, the former Today Show host. She taught a new way to cast-on when you start a knitting project - I even held her needle while she was demonstrating. VERY nice person and I loved her stories. I can't wait to get my hands on some needles and some yarn!

My roommate is off to a business dinner and I'm going to rest-up for the big day tomorrow when I get to see even more old friends and find out what the new and hot products are that will show up in stores near you soon.

First Post of Make Healthy Fun!

Make Healthy Fun!

Hi there,

This is my first blog post for Make Healthy Fun! and I am very excited!!!

My goal is to help families to have healthy lives by moving, eating healthy and unplugging with simple creative projects. My background is in the craft industry, I love kids, I've had a weight problem since I was a child so I know how those feelings can negatively effect someone and follow them throughout their lives.

I want to make healthy changes in the World and I invite you and your family to join me on the journey to healthier lives.

Please sign up for our newsletter and / or our blog for fun and creative ideas for the entire family! I welcome your comments and questions, we're all in this together!
